The Beginner's course (first degree) incorporates socialization, basics of upbringing and basic obedience. It consists of 14 „school hours“ (45 minutes).
The first three hours are bound into one theory class. In the class, every topic which will be done in practice is thoroughly explained. The topics which are most important to people - dog owners - and which will be useful in their life with their dogs are also covered. Some veterinary topics are also done.
The next 10 hours are all practice. They consist of making basic exercises of obedience which are adapted to life in the city and they can be useful in everyday situations. Aside from that, the dog socializes with other dogs and people through working in the group, while also picking up knowledge of miscellaneous sounds from the environment.
The final class is a form of testing the things which were supposed to be learned, for those who want to go to our advanced classes (second degree).
The course lasts for about 2 months, and its duration is dependent on the weather conditions.
Throughout the course, there is an emphasis on building a quality relationship between the handler and the dog.
The price of the basic course is 800 HRK.
There are no gender nor breed limitations.
Age limit: At least two weeks need to pass since the first vaccination from infectious diseases. Dogs who have reached the age for the first rabies vaccination, need to be vaccinated against rabies and need to have their chip implanted, according to law.
There are no other limitations.
The course is conceived so that the handler comes and works alone with his dog. The groups are made of a different number of people. Depending on the number of people who have enrolled, but they do not go over 10 attendants. The course manager teaches people how to work with their dogs.
Dogs with minor behavior problems will be evaluated before the course, and according to the evaluation and the handler's agreement, will be worked with through a program that has been adapted for the dog. All evaluations and decisions are done by the course manager. His decision needs to be respected and followed.
Dogs with major behavior problems will also be evaluated and, if it is not possible to work with them, in the beginning will be recommended a different form of work (individual work with our managers, or a recommendation of one of our associates - instructor who has more experience with those kind of problems).
We are looking forward to spending time with you and we hope that you will be pleased with our classes!
Practice is held in the center of the city of Rijeka.
